About  MJ's Custom Upholstery & Design

Creating furniture that won't go unnoticed!

Erick has been doing upholstery for over 20 years. At a young age Erick had been around Upholsters that showed Erick the ways of Upholstery.  Erick graduated High school and went onto College. With going to school full time , Erick decided to stop doing Upholstery for several years. Once Erick realized the passion he had for his Upholstery work Erick went on to work in different Upholstery companies. With all the knowledge Erick got from all the years he worked with other companies Erick decided it was time to go on his own. With the support of his wife Yvette, Erick set off to start his business from the ground up.

Erick and his wife would set off to different cities to pass out there business cards. Although there was times people would close there doors in Erick's face, Erick did not give up it made him stronger to keep on pushing his business.

Working out of his garage Erick's client list begin to grow and  in 2010 this husband and wife team got a small location in the City of South El Monte. 

In 2014, MJ's Custom Upholstery & Design outgrew its South El Monte location and moved to a larger in the City Of Whittier. Where we have been since.

Color, texture, fabric, hardware – details like these can transform an old piece of furniture into the main piece of your living room, dining room, bedroom etc...  

At MJ's Custom Upholstery & Design our goal is to help you bring your vision to reality. We'll guide you through the decisions, providing options/samples to make it easy for you to choose your favorites. Then, we pull it all together into a piece of furniture that is beautiful, functional and uniquely yours.
